ABOUT ME

Welcome

I love people, and I love my work with Intracoastal Realty. I consult with builders and developers on a daily basis, and I hire, train and manage the agents who represent these sellers in their new home communities. I enjoy helping people make the right decision, and I have worked since I was a teenager. I would love to help you, too.

My History

In 1996 I moved to Wilmington, NC, from Los Angeles, California, where I worked in a boutique real estate firm in the heart of Beverly Hills. My work there dealt primarily with buyers and sellers of high end properties, including some well-known celebrities.

My husband Joe is an actor who is most well-known for his seventeen year portrayal of “Dr. Neil Curtis” on NBC’s daytime drama Days of Our Lives. His long and varied career also included four other soaps, Broadway, and several films. He currently performs regularly at Wilmington’s Thalian Hall and travels to participate in celebrity charity golf tournaments and events whenever possible. For more information on Joe, visit his website www.JoeGallison.comClick here to see video clips.

My Passion

I share my life and home with three dogs I adopted from local shelters. Ariel, Shadow and Mulligan were adopted as adults, and continue to bring us joy and teach us about unconditional love. My dream is for everyone to understand the joys and responsibilities of living with companion animals. I can’t imagine life without dogs.

In addition to my passion for my work and my husband, my great passions are dogs and community service. I love animals. I value the bond between animals and their human companions, and I want others to know the value, too. Nothing upsets me more than abused, neglected and homeless animals. I have always loved dogs, but I discovered this “calling” as an adult, and I think volunteering is a good way to find your passion.

To help some of the needy dogs and the people who love them, I have created The KARMA Fund (Kindness And Respect for More Animals). This non-profit, fundraising organization is designed to be a community resource, helping dogs and people in need in our area. Visit www.TheKARMAFund.org for more information.

Giving Back

I feel very strongly about volunteering and community service – giving back to the community you live in. Much of my spare time is spent supporting groups and organizations that share my belief that we must take care of each other. I volunteer in political campaigns and have served on the boards of several organizations, including Carolina Canines For Service (www.CarolinaCaninesForService.org). I have supported the work of the New Hanover Humane Society (www.NHumaneSoc.com) since moving to Wilmington, first as a shelter Volunteering with Habitat for Humanityvolunteer, then as an officer & board member, and currently appearing regularly on WECT-TV6 Carolina in the Morning “Pet of the Week” spot. I am fortunate to also have been able to travel with my husband to charity celebrity golf tournaments all over the country.

After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit my home state of Louisiana in 2005, I had to help, so I volunteered with the animal organization Noah’s Wish (www.NoahsWish.org). Spending my day cleaning kennels and helping to care for some of the hundreds of homeless dogs found after the storm was the most rewarding and fulfilling work I have ever done. It also inspired me to return to Noah’s Wish for their disaster training program and to get involved in disaster preparations for my own community.

I believe very strongly in being an active and productive part of my business community, too. I actively support the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association, serving on their Sales & Marketing Council Executive Committee for years. I am an active member of the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce and have participated in their annual volunteer Sustainable Resource Campaign since 2001.  I currently serve on their education Foundation Board and Leadership Wilmington committee. (www.WilmingtonChamber.org)

I am honored to have been recognized for my efforts, including being named 2007 and 2008 Sales Manager of the Year, 2004 Cathy Clark Spirit Award recipient (both from the Home Builders Association and Sales & Marketing Council) and the 2008 Karl Davis Leadership Wilmington Alumni of the Year Award.
